Carney, Nichols--Seeking data on Arthur Carney, Choctaw Trader and mercantile businessman who died l802-1803 on Bayou Pierre without a Will.  Location of his land, burial site and death records needed. Need information on Carney's daughter, Elizabeth Louisiana Carney who married Joseph Nichols.  Nichols is buried in Church Hill Cemetery, Adams Co., MS and believe Elizabeth may be buried in Jefferson Co., MS - is anyone out there researching the Nichols and Carney families?  Will appreciate any resources I might access to further my research.  June Carney Pollard, TN - e-mail: junesam@bellsouth.net   03-05

Payne--I am looking for information regarding the death of Martha Ratliff Payne who would have died around 1892. She was the wife of a circuit Baptist minister named James H. Payne.  It is believed that she died shortly after giving birth to my grandfather.  She died of either yellow fever or typhoid fever.  I was told that her grave would be under water today. What newspapers would have reported the news during this time and what if any, cemeteries would possibly be under water.  Any information would be most beneficial.  Please put Martha Payne as subject. Zegar--My name is Electra Smith (Zegar), I believe I came across my half brother I have never met in your Cemetary.  His name is Fredrick Mahmud Zegar, you are showing a Fredrick M. Chaney, Rife--Hi, I am looking for the father of Zebulon C. Chaney.  Zebulon born about 1853 and 5 Oct 1887.  Zebulon is listed on the 1880 census with his Mother Mrs. M. L. Chaney and two sibilings.  I have information on Zebulon, his wife (Elizabeth Rife), his mother and his two sibilings but nothing for his Dad.  The 1880 census said that Zebulon's father was from LA. Wood, Walker--Wood family in Natchez MS.  John H.F. Wood: 3rd great grandfather. John married Rose Walker and they had two children, James Harrison Wood and Mariah Wood.  While John and Rose were on a trip to Arkansas, Rose caught small pox and died and was buried in Arkansas.  John and Rose were living in KY at this time, so John came back to KY to take his two kids James Harrison and daughter Mariah to Natchez MS.  John was probably born about 1815.  James was born in 1835.  More info on this line at: http://www.wood.glennsheffield.com/  Thanks!  gks@bellsouth.net    06-03

Wesley--I'm looking for Wesley family members of Adams Co. who may be connected to the Wesley members who are from Lincoln County.  My grandfather was John Hezekiah Wesley.  He used to visit Natchez, we think he was visiting relatives there.  Would be grateful for any help.  We are holding a reunion there in July.  Wezluvya@aol.com    05-03
