Oglethorpe--I am looking for the gravesite of John Newman Oglethrope, Jr., reported to have died in Concordia Parish before 1850.  First wife's last name was Kendrick daughter of Burrell Kendrick.  This is an ancestor of mine and I am working on my genealogy.  Wanda McWhirter-Heaton. zane@beau.org    06-04

Swayze--1850 Census--I am searching for slave records pertaining to Eldridge Swayze, who--along with a brother named Henry and a sister named Letitia--were purchased in probate by Robert W. Reynolds from Edward Doty at Black River on January 6, 1848.  Mr. Doty was tutor of Eliza Prather's minor son, Charles Craig, Jr.  Any assistance in any form will be greatly appreciated.  Best wishes!  Frances Swayzer Conley, Ed.D.  ajcon@bellsouth.net    03-04
