York, Cook, Owens--I am looking for any imfo/stories/pics/and ancestors of William Calvin York born July 3,1846, in Bradley, TN. He married Alice _____. She had 3 children from a previous marriage: 1. Emma D Cook born 1881, 2. Charley/Charlie Cook born 1882 (this is my line, he was my great-grandpa), 3. (female) Willie M Cook born 1895. William Calvin York may have adopted these 3 and raised them as his own. They also had one child together, a daughter named Chassie/Chissie York, who was born in Bradley, TN, November 1899. I just recently found out this information. I misunderstood a cousin who had said that great-grandpa Charlie Cook was adopted, I thought she meant that he was orphaned or adopted by a family. It wasn't that at all. His mother, my gr-gr-grandmother, Alice, just remarried after a divorce or being widowed. Would love to hear from anyone with any info on these folks. Charley/Charlie Cook (born 1882, died 1950's, buried Maple Hill Cemetary, Valier,Illinois) married Hattie Owens born 1892. They had 6 children, 3 of whom were born in or around Bradley,TN: 1. William Cook, 2. Edgar Cook born Bradley, TN (or surrounding area?), 3. Eugene Cook born 1919-20, died 1970's, 4. Lucy Cook born 1918 in Ky, now lives in a nursing home in Benton, Illinois, 5. Mayzelle Cook born January 17, 1916 Red Boiling Springs,TN (Macon Co.?) died Sept 28, 1945, Sesser, Illinois, buried Maple Hill Cemetery, Valier, Illinois. She was my grandmother. 6. Bonnie Cook born in Ky, 1927, died March 2002. Married _____ Paine/Payne. Any info regarding William Calvin York born July 3, 1846, Bradley, TN & wife Alice _____ with children Emma, Charlie, Willie, and Chissie/Chassie-greatly appreciated.
