Johnson2--I am searching for information on my great grandfather W.A. Johnson who was born December 5, 1828, in McNairy County and left Tennessee for Texas in April of 1846. He died on February 28, 1899 at Garrett, Ellis County, Texas. Thank you and you may e-mail me at adill@hot.rr.com 08-04
Ross--I am searching for any information about an Ernest Ross or his father. Ernest Ross is my great grandfather. It is believed that his father was born in Tennessee. Ernest Ross was born around 1881. I am guessing that his father was born around 1862 or so. Ernest Ross moved to Texas and had 2 sons, William Johnson Ross (my grandfather) and John Dee Ross. Richardson, Prince--I am searching for information on Minnie Belle Richardson Prince approx 1890-1919. Mother, Sallie Richardson, 1869-1938, grandfather, Joe Richardson, dob 1838. Minnie married Thomas Walter Prince date uk. Lived in Pocahontas, TN. My Mother is almost 93 and would like some information on her mother, Minnie, died when my Mom was 7 years old. Ray/Wray--Looking for information on the Hiram Ray/Wray found in the 1850 and 1860 census in McNairy Co, TN. Family included: Hiram Ray, wife, Julia Ray. Ruth--Adam Ruth apparently died about 1850 near Buray, since he is shown on the net census list as being in McNairy county in 1850. Where was Buray (8th Dist,) and does he have a cemetery listing. Though Adam is not on the roll, his family Joab Ruth, Solomon Ruth, Elizabeth Ruth, James Ruth, Martha Ruth, and Catherine Ruth are on page 90B of the 1850 census. Joab and Solomon are listed on the Confederate rolls. Does the county have any info on them in pension lists or otherwise ?? Are any of the girls on the marriage lists, or any of the men ??? Vaughan, Johnson--Believe my gggrandfather Littleberry Vaughan lived in the area around 1840 and I have that time as possible death, but cannot find where he was buried. His wife was in Lee Co., MS census of 1870 and shows buried in Pine Grove Cemetery there dying 1871. In the census she was shown living with daughter Priscilla Vaughan marrried to Redding Johnson and they are also buried in Pine Grove. Just trying to find if possibly Littleberry died in McNairy Co. and was buried there, then wife Sarah went to MS. Sorry for rambling but if you have a comment please. Cunningham, Tucker--I am searching for parents of a David (called Jim) Cunningham born on 25 Dec 1815 somewhere in Tenn., but lived in McNairy Co., TN near Michie, TN when he died on 19 July 1896. He and his wife, Jane Tucker, born 15 Oct 1820 in TN, are both buried at Carter Cemetery, Michie, TN. I am also searching for her parents. Jane Tucker-Cunningham died 25 Sept 1892. I do not know what county David and Jane were born in so its been hard to find there parents. Is there anyone out there working on a Cunningham or Tucker line that can help me? Early Settlers Monument--Is it possible to get a photo or brochure showing a view (that can be read) of the inscriptions of all four sides of the Monument in Honor of the Early Settlers of McNairy County in the court square at Selmer?
