Amite County Historical Society--

Amite Researchers Reunion--We will have main meeting day for June 9, 2001 (Saturday) at Shriners building Percy Quinn State Park.  We are taking $10.00 per person non-refundable deposit to hold reservation.  We will have activities in Liberty on June 8, 2001 including courthouse tours, cemetery tours and meeting at Bethel Baptist outside of Liberty in "Ducktown".  Library in Liberty  is interested in working with us to get additional books to help researchers.  We are putting together a map on Liberty area for those who wish to explore a little themselves.  We currently have a directory of researchers and surnames in Amite county that will be given out at the reunion only.  At this time there is 200 listed in this database.  We hope to begin more reunion projects in a few months. We will advertise locally at some point as not everyone is on the Internet.  We will try to help form some surname groups ahead of time so researchers will be able to share information and documentation easily. http://amitereunion.homestead.com/AmiteReunion.html
