Moore2, Wasson2--My grandfather, Wade Octavius Moore, was born in Kosciusko on February 18, 1871. I cannot find anything pertaining to him until his marriage to my grandmother, Elizabeth Wilma Wasson, in 1907. I cannot find anything about his parents, brothers or sisters. Pickle--I am searching for information on the Jacob Lewis Pickle family and John Pickle family that migrated to Attala County between the years 1860 and 1870 from Monroe County, Mississippi. Some of the family may have settled near the town of Dossville in Leake County. Surnames include: Pickle, Doss, Carlisle, Culpepper2, Simmons, Black, Fowler, Sanders, Hollingsworth, Henry, Conn, Wheat, Jones2, Day, Woods, Jolly, Evans2, Miller, Moore, Moss and Turner2. Williams3--I am a descendant of Rev. John Edwin Williams--he was from Kosciusko, Missisippi and married Katie Brock, daughter of Collin Brock (Utica, MS)--& had at least three brothers, one of whom was named Kenneth Williams--I also believe that at least two of the brothers were doctors.. Williams2--I am looking for information on my g-g grandparents who were in Attala County, MS, according to the 1850 census. I have no idea when they died or where they were buried. James T. Williams born in Georgia about 1816 and Sarah J. Williams born in South Carolina about 1820. They had the following children, Sarah F. Williams born about 1836, Sylvester Williams born 1838, Martha E. Williams born 1843, Virgil M. Williams (my g-grandfather) born in 1845, Zack T. Hardin, Reynolds--I am looking for an obituary for Henry Hardin born 28 Dec 1823, AL, died 1 Apr 1865, Attala, MS. He married Emily Ann Reynolds 14 Dec 1842 in AL or MS. Emily was born 15 Mar 1828, AL; died 5 Nov 1870, Attala, MS. I am trying to determine who Henry's parents are. Also, could anyone tell me if these death records would be available in Attala Co., MS. Jackson2--J.A. Jackson is listed in the 1860 Attala County Census. He was a merchant worth an estimated $30,000. While his family is around in 1870, J.A. has disappeared. I believe he died in the meantime and lost just about everything in the war. I wonder if, by any chance, there is an obituary recorded for him. McDaniel, Cummins, Guess--I am seeking any information in reference to Nettie McDaniel's parents, elders, brothers and/or sisters. She was born in MS in 1872 and died 1910 in Attala County, and was buried at Doty Spring's Baptist Church Cemetery near Ethel. She married Isaac Sanford Cummins, the son of Isaac Marion Cummins & Nancy Matilda Guess-Cummins in 1891, also of Attala County. Their marriage produced 8 children, they are: Walter M. Bellamy--I am looking for any information regarding John F. Bellamy who moved to Attala County from Choctaw County, Ms between 1840 and 1850. Some time after 1850 he moved to Louisiana. He was born in Handcock County, Georgia in 1804. His wife's name is Rasina (____) Bellamy and their children are: a. William Bellamy born 1828 in Monroe County, Georgia. b. John F. Burns--Francis "Frank" Burns was born in Ireland in 1827 and immigrated to Mississippi in the late 1840's. He was my great-grandfather. I know little about him, except for his service in the Confederate army. He was mustered into Company C of the 13th Mississippi Infantry Regiment (which was a component of General Barksdale's Old Mississippi Brigade) at Kosciusco, MS in early 1861. He had lived in that town for several years as well as in Paden, MS. Does anyone know if he is listed in the 1850 and 1860 censuses from Attala County? He returned to Mississippi after loyally serving 4 years in the Confederate Army, then he moved to Kentucky after the war. I would like to hear from anyone named "BURNS" who has ancestors who came from Ireland at about that time, because I believe that my great-grandfather came to the U.S. with other family members from Ireland. Ray--Would appreciate any information one might have concerning my grandfather and grandmother Thomas D. Ray and wife Sarah Taylor Ray. The family lived at various times in Zama and Hesterville. All are now deceased. Winnie Ray was my father. My mother was Mary Jim Carlisle Ray. Children were Winnie Lee Ray, Onie Ray Bailey, William S. Ray, James Kermit Ray, Revie Ray Griffin, Ora Ray Casey. Lowery, Barry--I am looking for any information about my great grandmother, Ophelia Lowery. I know that she was born on: January 13, 1860. She married William Henry Christopher Lowery on January 9, 1879. I have been told that her mother died during her birth and that her father was killed walking home from the civil war. I know that they lived in the Ethel, Missisppi area during the years of 1879 through approximately 1879. I have not had any luck finding information about her. Hutson/Hudson--I am looking for correct spelling for Frances A. Hutson/Hudson. On the 1850 Attala County, MS census he has the spelling of Frances HUTSON. On his wife's tombstone in Bethel Cemetery she has the spelling of HUDSON. Can anyone verify this spelling? Also, can anyone tell me the maiden name of Ann Hudson/Hutson??? Mallette/Mallett, McAdory--I would like any information on my grandmother. Her name before marriage - Ella Mallette and she married a Amos McAdory. She died in 1933 and her husband died in 1938. I have not been able to find their names on anything. I found my father and two of his brothers. My fathers name is Odell.
