Brown, McKenzie--Hi, I need help in finding Alvin D. Brown (gg grandfather) who lived in Benton Co., Lamar voting precinct in 1880 with his family.  They are listed on the 1880 census records, Wife was Martha B. (Mckenzie) Brown and son John Walter Brown (My great grandfather).  Looking for history of a killing or hanging of Alvin D. Brown or other family member or members after 1880.  Would like to confirm verbal stories from family past down.  Brown family came to Georgia after a death.  Census records show Martha as head of houehold in Ga. 1890-1900.  Thank you, Roslynn Brown Simmons.  davesimm@aol.com   05-05

Smith--Could someone look up a James M. Smith age 13 (born 1857), in Benton County, in 1870. His father may be named James Smith  Also, James M. Ray, Gray--My great-grand parents lived in Benton County.  Supposedly they were married in 1905. Their names were Samuel Andrew Ray (born 1873) and Mary JoHanna Gray (born 1888).  We have found no marriage records or other information.  The information that we have is by word of mouth only.  If you have any information

Linville, Norton--My Grandfather was William Clayton Linville, who was born sometime around 1860 in Walnut, Mississippi.  My Grandmother was Luttie Norton.  She was born in Ashland, Mississippi in the mid-1860's.  I know that my Grandmother had a Brother named Joe Norton.  Her family ran a sawmill in Ashland.  Any help I can get in this matter will be greatly welcomed.  Thanks.
