Murphree--My name is Faye Murphree Dorr.  I'm trying to locate the branch of Murphree's that were related to my great-grandparents.  Their names were Thomas Murphree and Josephine "Queenie" Murphree.  They moved to Tate County from your area  in the 1800's and my grandfather Baxter was one of their children.  If you have anyone I can contact, I would certainly appreciate your help.  Thank you, my e-mail address is dorr@highstream.net     11-03

Hannah--My great grandfather was John Lowe Hannah who settled in Calhoun City, MS, in 1834.  I had seen info on the Hannah family in Goodspeed's Memoirs of Mississippi, but this was stolen in a breakin.  I have not been able to obtain the "Hannah" exerpts since, along with my Great grand father's history.  I appreciate any assistance you can provide.  Sincerely,  Donald W Hannah.   hanamagee@aol.com   10-03

Jenkins, Giddeon, Moore, Cox, Sherrel--Looking for the families of James Richard Jenkins (born 1824 died 1885/1895) and wife Elizabeth Jane Giddeon (born 1834 died 4 July 1910).  They were married about 1853.  We have copies of their participation in the Midway Missionary Baptist Church, and the 1870/1880 Calhoun County Census.   We do not know the parents of James, but Elizabeth's parents were William Giddeon and Mary A. Moore.   Their son, James Monroe Jenkins (born 8 January 1860 died 23 Sept 1917) married first Alice Smith (her mother was a Cherokee Indian) (and second Amy Ruff).  Their son,  Arthur Leonard Jenkins, married Eunice Cox, daughter of Marion McDonald Cox (born July 1833 died 1903/1908) and Mary Jane Sherrel (born April 1833 died about 1903).  bteaster@cogwm.org  or  bjbtb0304@worldnet.att.net   06-03
