Currie, Morrison, Evans--Robert B. Currie died in Claiborne Co., MS, October 13, 1823.  He was 41 years old.  He served in the war of 1812.  He did not own land when he died.  His wife Jane (Morrison) Currie married again in 1832 to a Jessee J. Evans.  On some census of Robert B. Currie children he was born in Pa. and church affilliation was Presb.  Jane was Episcopalian.   Any information on this family or someone who is in the area and would like to do some research please contact me.  Thanks,  Inez.  iedwards@sbcglobal.net    01-04

Brock, Harper--I am trying to get information on the Brock family. I found in the 1880 census My great grand mother Olivia Brock born 1859 and was widowed.  She was married to William Brock in Claiborne Co., MS, February 20, 1876.  The census showed her as head of house with two children. Maggie Brock (my great grand mother) was 3 years old, Willina Brock age 1 and her mother and grand mother living in the same household.  I am trying to find out more about her husband (my great grand father) William Brock.  I only find where he married Olivia Harper in 1876.  I don't know when he died or who his parents were.  Does anyone have any information about him?  Charles Hickman.  E-mail:  hickman_c@netzero.net    09-03

Smith, Martin--I am looking for information regarding W. Myles Smith family and his ancestors. I am a descendant of James Claiborne Martin of Lorman, Mississippi and W. Myles Smith of Port Gibson. Ashley, Burr--I am looking for genealogy  info on Robert Ashley in Claiborne county, Miss. As early as 1806 he owned land at Bayou Pierre.  He was involved with Aaron Burr in Burr's treason escapade.  Any info will help, Shirley Ashley Honore'.   psh@olypen.com    08-03

Elliott, Roberts, Lightfoot--If you have any knowledge of one John Elliott, married to Mahala Roberts, who in 1910 was living and farming in the vicinity of Port Gibson, and who according to legend was killed in aproximately 1913 or 1914 by cattle thieves on his ranch, please e-mail me with your information.  He was my great great grandfather, and I've been unable to find any solid information about his parentage, other than the family legend which says he was half Choctaw Indian, and that his father's name was Lightfoot.  Many thanks for any tips or leads!  Sean.McDonald@cincinnatilibrary.org    07-03

Bridger, Wells--I am trying to identify the parents of Catherine Bridger.  She was born about 1840, and is shown living with several other Bridger children (Mary, Sinai and Henry) with the John Wells family in 1850.  Nancy Bridger had married John Wells a few years before, and she may have been her aunt or older sister.  Several Bridger heads of households were living in Claiborne County in the previous census, but I can't figure out which one was Catherine's father.  Any assistance would be appreciated.  lllewis@mindspring.com    02-03
