Ballinger, McLendon--I am looking for information on H. M. Ballinger.  It is my understanding that he was a civil engineer in Hinds County around 1920.  He married Emma McLendon in 1915.  They had two children.  PHicks6694@aol.com    06-04

Watson, Waddell--I need any information on Thomas Forest Watson or his wife, Mary Lee Waddell from around the 1880's.  I know that they are buried in a Raymond, MS cemetery.  Son Thomas Forest Watson, Jr. was born 1892 but cut ties to the family after he left.  This was my great grandfather.  I also know that there was a daughter with the possible name of Luella Watson.  Nothing is available on ancestry.com and I am trying to finish that part of the tree.  If anyone knows anything please email me.  Thank you, Tonia. labontes1805@peoplepc.com     05-04 06-04

Moss, Blackwell, Oglethorpe--Looking for ancestors buried in cemetery near college.  Names:  Flavia Jane Blackwell Moss & Cris or Christopher Moss???  I know they are there, just need directions to the grave.  Want to come take picture, but have a handicap as far as walking and looking!  I am searching for relatives of C. C. Moss & Flavia Moss buried in the Clinton Cemetery.  Also looking for info on John O. Hooker--Hooker family.  I am searching for any information on Col. Charles Edward Hooker CSA.  He was born in Union County, SC, around 1825 and moved to Hinds or Copiah Co. Currie, Morrison, Evans, Winkler, Blalock, Hudson, Steward, Morgan--In 1823 Robert B. Currie died in Claiborne Co., MS, at the age of 41.  His wife Jane (Morrison) Currie married Jesse Evans in 1832 in Hinds Co., MS.  The children of Robert and Jane all married in Hinds Co. Joseph B. Currie to Caroline Evans in 1832. Robert M. Currie to Elizabeth Winkler in 1831.  Evlina Elize Currie to Henry Blalock in 1831.  Stephen Decator Currie to Minerva Hudson in 1835 and Sarah Jane Currie to John Steward in 1838 and Mary Mariah Currie to Thos Morgan in 1842.  My line is Robert M. Hays, Robinson Road cemetery--In 1923 my husband's great grandfather died in Jackson, Mississippi, and was buried in a Methodist church cemetery on Robinson Road. I have heard that in later years the cemetery was moved.  Can anyone help me with the name of the church and/or where the cemetery was moved to, if  indeed it was moved.  I very much want to find the burial site of my husband's great grandfather, John Bowen Hays.   Carole Hays.  cjhays@bayou.com   09-03

Jones--As a beginning genealogist, I am looking for historical information of the ancestors of Ira Robertson Jones of Utica, Hinds Co., Misissippi.  My father, Carl Edward Jones, was his only child. I have a fairly good pedigree chart (although I have not,as yet, verified all the dates).  The surnames in this line include Jones (John Ashburn, Robert T., David, Robert, Jr. and Robert, Sr.), Robertson, Battel, Ruble, Ragan, Van Meter, Faucette, White, Tracy.  Iam interested in finding any biographies or personal histories of these people.  I know this line has been regestered with the DAR and other societies, but I would like to learn their stories.  If any one has any information on this line, I would appreciate learning more about my ancestors.  Thank you.  Maryanndours@aol.com    06-03

Elliott, Herren--I am searching for information on my ancestors that were in Hinds County, MS, in the 1800's.  Josiah Elliott was born about 1839 in Kershaw, SC, but moved to Hinds Co., MS, and was married there in 1859.  He served in the Civil War in the 2nd Batt., 48th Infantry Reg. for MS.  Trying to find if he died in a Civil War prison camp or came back to Hinds Co...  He was married to a Martha Ann Herren that supposedly was buried in the area at a Herren family cemetery.   He had a son, Stephen Allen Elliott that was born there in 1860, and married there in 1879, and later came to East Texas, where I am now.  Any help will be greatly appreciated,  Allen E. Tombs, Norrell--Article from the 'Confederate Veteran' magazine, dated April , 1918, page 183.  { This article may be of interest to the TOMBS family. I hope so, even though they are not mine, I wonder if the Tombs family ever received the book.}  Mrs. Hansford D. Norrell of Augusta, Ga., writes that she has found among her husbands books a small Testament with the following inscription:  Bible House, Dec. 1864.  From the Maryland State Bible Society to George W. Tombs, soldier in Company C, 18th Regiment of Mississippi Volunteers.  "Should I die on the battlefield or in a hospital, for the sake of humanity acquaint, Mrs. W. Y. Tombs, residing at Utica, Hinds County, Miss., of the fact and where my remains may be found".  Mrs. Norrell is anxious to return the book to some of the relatives.  Submitted by Nancie.  drayton5@earthlink.net    12-02

Fowler, Green--Looking for Redrick Fowler who married Martha Green in Warren Co., MS, 1869.  Moved to Hinds Co. and found on the 1870  and 1880 census in this county.  Children of Martha (Green) Fowler were Delila Fowler, Wallis (or Willis) Fowler, Franklin Fowler, James W. Peyton/Paton--I am searching for any information you can provide about Daniel and Alcey Paton  (sic). Daniel & Elsie Peyton.  Elsie was born circa 1850 and Dan was maybe a few years older.  I know they were together in Hinds County in 1880 and had children.  I have no record of Dan after 1900.  Children: Jimmie born ?,  John  born ?, Mary born 1874, Columbus born ?, Silus born circa 1876, Lexan born 1878, Jenny born 1884.  Elsie worked for a Dr. O.
