Vincent--I am currently researching my family tree and can't seem to find anything. I am new to the ancestry searches. My great grandfather was Benjamin Lee Vincent and I believe he was from Collinsville, MS. He would have been born in the 1890's. Where can I access birth and marriage certificates for free?? Kennedy, Saunders, Simmons--I am looking for anyone with information on an Aaron Kennedy born in Mississippi on 3-3-1834. He left Miss. for Texas and married Caroline Saunders born 11-10-1840 in Bastrop County, Texas [or Lauderdale, MS; see below--editor], in 1869. I can find no records on him until he turns up in Texas in 1869. I am seeking info on Caroline Saunders born on 11-10-1840 in Lauderdale Miss. to Joseph Saunders and Mary Simmons Saunders. I believe the parents came from N.C. They only stayed in Miss. a short time and moved on to Texas, where she married Aaron Kennedy in 1969. Cliburn, Shivers--Dear Friends: I have recently learned that I had a half brother whom I never met. His name was William Bennett Cliburn, Jr. and his mother was Erma Bell Shivers Cliburn. I am told that they lived in the Meridian, Mississippi area after World War II. Both, I know are deceased. Douglas--I am looking for information on the James B. Douglas family listed in the 1880 Census. My father has been unable to locate any information regarding his family following the 1880 census. He has reason to believe that Willie J. Douglas is his grandfather and Clarence L. Douglas is his great uncle. McLaurin, Odom, Redmond, Whitehead, Rutland--I am trying to find out any information about my father. My father was born around Ora, MS. His name was Virgil McLaurin and he had a sister named Virgie (McLaurin) Odom -- who is buried in MILLER - COULTER [There is a Miller Cemetery in both Covington Co. and Lauderdale Co.]. His father was Duncan McLaurin (I think, and he is suppossedly buried in Meridian, Lauderdale Co., MS. He was a doctor, and that is all I know.) and his mother was Althea Redmond(sp). They were divorced and she remarried a Whitehead. Linnie (Whitehead) Rutland (Whitehead was her maiden name) was his half-sister. She is buried at Rutland Cemetery [possibly 2 in Covington Co.] in the Collins area. Sylvester Whitehead, who is buried at Willow Grove [Covington Co.] was his half-brother. (Lula M. Speed, Davis--I am trying to learn the family history of Prentiss Clifton Speed. According to my data, his date of birth was November 28, 1882 and date of death was September 6, 1951. I believe he is buried in Meridian, Mississippi at Magnolia Cemetery. His wife, Ola Grace Davis Speed is buried there, too. I am their granddaughter. Brewer, Chambley--Been working on my husband's family tree. His grandparents are supposed to be buried in a Toomsuba, MS, cemetery. I just can't get there in the near future to look. I'm in FL. I am hoping someone might know them or some of the family history. Their names are Claytee Brewer born 2-20-1909, died Nov. 1972 and his ex-wife, Ruby Chambley Brewer born 3-28-1909 died 5-1989. Baines--I am reseaching Henry Baines who purchased land in Lauderdale County, MS in 1841. I found the land patent for the purchase via the U S Bureau Land Management Office records.
