Studdard, Speights--I have done an exhaustive search for the marriage records of my parents. We are from Lowndes County, MSand they met and had three homes in Lowndes County. Yet, I can't find the marriage certification. They are Vernon A. Studdard and Scottie Sherrill Speights Studdard who lived at 1916 Old Aberdeen Road, Columbus, MS 39701. My father's social security number is 425-07-0972 born in Walker Co., Ala. on 3-6-16 and died 1-3-88 in Lowndes County. Both are buried at Eggers Cemetery in Caledonia, MS. My mother's social security number is 572-28-3617 (issued in California), born in Bassfield, MS on 8-12-14 and died in Lowndes Co. on 3-5-99. Memorial Funeral Home held both funerals. Can you help me? I am their second daughter and lived in Columbus until early 1970's and graduated from Lee High in 1964. My father was drafted into World War II at Kolola Springs, MS, and sent to Camp Shelby and then to Camp Roberts in California. He was discharged due to health reasons early. Gardner, Skeen--I am searching for my GGGparents who came to Mississippi from Mecklenburg Carrabus County, NC about 1820 and died in Lowndes Co in the 1830's and 1840's. Their names were James Gardner and Mary Gardner born NC 1776 and 1779, and children were James Marion Gardner, Sarah Gardner, Mary J. Gardner, William Gardner a doctor, and James Marion married an Elizabeth Skeen and after James and Mary's death many went to Texas about 1847 in the Mercer Colony Train. Any help is so appreciated. Kern, Heikamp--I am trying to find the death and burial place for Victor Kern. I have information placing him, his wife Wilhelmina Heikamp, and her nephew Anton Heikamp and niece Mary Heikamp in Columbus from about 1866 through about 1880. Found him in the 1880 Census listed under the spelling Victor Kerse. Have not been able to check the 1870 census. Believe he died and was buried in Columbus, MS between 1881 and 1887. His wife and her nephew Anton are found in the New Orleans City Directory in 1887 and Wilhelmina died in New Orleans in about 1910-1911. Can find no death of a Victor Kern in New Orleans records. Williams, Sherman--My name is Eric Williams and am trying to find out something about my family. My father told me that my Great-great-grandfather came into Mississippi from the Carolinas and settled around Columbus. I do not know his first name or his wife's name. My great-grandfather was Andrew Williams. His grave is in Drew, MS and the date of birth given as 1861 and death in 1905. He was married to Louise Wade Williams (dob 7/21/1862 and dod 12/30/1930). She is also buried in Drew. My gg grandfather died at an early age and my gg grandmother remarried a man with the last name of Sherman. Dodson, Clardy--James M. Dodson came to the Caledonia area of Lowndes Co., MS from S.C. in the early 1840's. In the 1850 census he is age 27 and his wife, Mary Clardy is 26. Oldest child, James Dodson, is age 8 b Ms. He was in the 24th Regiment of the Ms. Infantry "Caledonia Rifles" mustered in Aug 1, 1861. Where are he and his wife buried? Page, Wolshnholm--My ggg grandmother was Jane Brooks Page and was married to Thomas Wolshnholm (?) and shown in the 1850 Census as living in Columbus, Miss.
