Coker, Tolar, Brewton--I am looking for information on my greatgrandparnets John William "Bill" Coker and Mary Elizabeth Tolar Coker. I think she may have been called "Mollie". I can not find anything on the Coker's. My grandmother was Nancy Lottie Coker married John Marcus Brewton. Thanks for any information. Please e-mail me at MommaDoris@aol.com 10-03
Lott, Jones--How can I buy or get access to the Marion County Cemetery book? I got a message that I am thrilled over that I cannot stop thinking about. My Aunt Roxxanna "Roxie" Jones born 1898-1900, daughter of Rena Lott was found in New Hope Cemetery. Is there a group or committee that repairs or replaces fallen markers? I have no information on my Lott or Jones family except a few Aunts and Uncles that died when I was small. Mostly, is there anyone out there that would be willing to take a picture of my Aunt's grave and of the cemetery? I must have more relatives buried there. And surely some live ones living in the community. Thanks for any help. Kat Jones Thayer. Email me please. thayoakl@aol.com 09-03
Weary--I am researching Wearys of Marion, MS around the 1800s, particularly Scipio Weary. I cannot find any birth records on him. I did find that he was married around 1879. I would like to know his nationality and his parents names. Tntmite@aol.com 08-03
Pace, Smith--Searching for parents of Mary Pace, wife of Noah Anderson Smith. Mary was born 05/18/1886 in Marion Co., MS, possibly Columbia. Thanks. cart@bayou.com 02-03
Collins, Pounds--I have a son of my ggg grandmother who was born in Marion Co., Mississippi, Feb 21, 1837. I seek his parents marriage record. I presume they married close by or in Marion Co? He is the first son by the name of Johnson Collins. The parents would be: Meshack Collins and Eliza Jane Pounds Collins both born SC about 1815. This family was in St. Tammany Parish, LA, in 1850 and by 1851 were in Tyler, Texas, joining a Baptist church. We have no date for the marriage--but place it a year or so before the birth of the first child? His obit said he was born 1837. Any proof of this marriage is greatly appreciated. We cannot go on to search the lineage without this proof. Need to know that the wife was indeed, Eliza Jane Pounds...any court paper, any bond? Anything showing her name in that place and time would help. Thanks. Judy Hugg Grimes, Yorba Linda, CA. megbr549@aol.com 01-03
