James, Jennings, Jordan--I am searching for the James Family, I found  the Samuel James family in Tippah Co., MS, where Samuel's parents are buried at.  This was in 1850.  At the time my granddad William James was 1 yr. old. The children listed in the 1850 census were listed as Franey James 1839; Sara A. James 1843; Indiana James 1845 and William James 1849.  William is my granddad, was married first time and had 2 sons born in MS. (have not been able to find Co. of birth) the only information I have on first wife was her name was Mary (_____) James and they lived in TX in 1880 with 2 sons and 1 daughter born in TX in 1879.  I do know that Samuel James & Lucy (Jennings) James were born in TN and the children thru 1849.  Samuel was the son of Issac James & Rachel James. Lucy was the daughter of Samuel Jennings & Sara Jordan Jennings.  Thanks, Ann.  cgrove01@msn.com     07-03

Williams--Am searching for info on a John S. Williams who lived and married in or around Holly Springs, was in Civil War, after which he moved to

Morton, Gaylor, Ezell--Can you please assist me in researching my family tree?  My grandfather's old family bible states that his grand parents are from Marshall Co. MS.  Her name is Naomi Kate "Katie" Gaylor Morton, she married James "Jas" Morton.  Jas has an M.D. after his name in many of the writing we have, so he may have been a doctor.  They were married and had a daughter Anna "Katie" Morton, who married E. C. Ezell.  All of this happened between 1840 and 1880.  The Ezell's moved to Middle Tennessee.  I would love to find out some information about the area of Mt. Pleasant, MS during that time.  Apparently, the family went to church there.  The Bible says something about M.E. Church, but it is hard to read.  We are trying to locate information about the Morton's and the Gaylors.  If you know of anyone or anything that can help me, please let me know.  Thank you, Karen Mawk.   kmawk@gmi.net
