Maxwell--I am trying to find a copy of a will for an A. J. Maxwell from Starkville, Oktibbeha, Mississippi. Birth: 17 February 1818 Oktibbeha, Mississippi. Death: 21 January 1879. A. J. Maxwell was the circuit clerk and owned land and slaves in Starkville, Mississippi. My husband is a slave descendant of A. J. Maxwell. WRIGHTvj@aol.com 07-04
Logan,
McIlwain--I
am trying to confirm if an Alexander Logan, born Sept. 10, 1823
in South Carolina, who died March 24, 1859 in Oktibbeha County, MS and
buried at Sanders Cemetery was ever married to a woman named Mary
(probably from Louisana, age about the same as Alexander).
Alexander's
father and mother were John Logan and Mary (McILwain) Logan
from Ireland and they are also buried at Sanders Cemetery. I am
tracing
a hunch that he was married and his wife Mary (widowed and pregnant)
moved
to Mobile, Alabama were his
decendents still live. Thank You For Your Help. David
Upton.
