Barksdale2, Hosea--I am very interested in Agnes Barksdale Hosea who married John T. Hosea until his death in 1914. Agnes was the daughter of E. S. Barksdale, longtime postmaster for Goshen Springs - 51 years, grandaughter of Colonel J. P. Barksdale. I would like to know what Colonel Barksdale was a colonel of, and what relation Agnes is to Lieutenant Eugene Hoy Barksdale, who died in a 1926 airplane crash, and had Barksdale Air Force Base named after him. In one bio I read on Lieutenant Barksdale, it stated that one of his sisters would baby-sit his boys when visiting Dayton, Ohio. Ages are right for Agnes to be one of his sisters. Are any of Lieutenant Barksdale's sons still living? A. C. "Trip" Wilson, III. tripwilsonnavy@aol.com 06-04

Sinai community--I own property is SW Rankin county approximately 4 (four) miles sw of Florence on White Road. This property was purchased by my late father, John S. Whitfield, in the mid-1940's. When this property was purchased, there were the remains of a small community there. The community was called Sinai. At that time, there were a couple of buildings still standing; a post office and a livery stable. I would like to inquire as to whether any photographs of this community still exist. Thanks, Barry D. Whitfield. bvsk@msn.com 10-03

Huff--My name is Edward Eugene Huff. I am researching the line of Washington Huff (1832--?) from the Antioch / Rufus / Lynwood / Pelahatchie area. We think that Washington's parents were named Joseph Hough and Mary Hough (thought to be Huff). Washington also lived in Scott county for a time. He had 4 sons. The youngest, William Enoch Huff, was my great great grandfather. If anyone has any information on any of these Huffs please contact me. I have a lot of data on many of his descendants and other family members, but many questions remain. If anyone has data on this, I would be most appreciative to share information with you. Thank You, Gene Huff. gene.huff@mci.com 06-03 09-03
