1850 Scott Co., Ms. Federal Census

Parts of this census were so faded as to be unreadable. Also in places the ink from the other side of the page had bled through. Blank lines are left so that if you have the information, you can write it in the census. I would appreciate any help in finding out who these people were.

There was not enough room to give the column headings. Below is an explanation of what they are:

Column 1& 2: This census taker had the same number for the dwelling and the families in the household; therefore, the number is only given once.
Column 3: Last name followed by first name
Column 4: Age
Column 5: Sex
Column 6: Color (all except a few were white; those of color must have been considered part of the family)
Column 7: Occupation
Column 8: Value of real estate owned
Column 9: Place of birth
Column 10: A - married within year
B - attended school within year
C - over 20 who could not read and write
D - deaf & dumb
