Riley--I have driven down from Memphis several times to Blue Mountain looking for John Riley in Smith Cemetery that according to info I was given is 2 miles northwest of Blue Mountain by taking the road directly behind the college.  I have not been able to find the cemetery as of yet and I have spent the good part of a few weekends looking and asking people in stores and gas stations for directions-no one seems to know where it is located.  Does anyone know of its location and can you give me directions to get to it-or if it's on someones private property get me a name or number of whose property it is, so I can call and ask permission to look at the grave and take a picture of his DAR stone to go with my records and to see if some of the family or inlaws are buried there with him-your info or reply would be greatly appreciated.  If Tippah Co makes a new family history book, I'd love to contribute the decendants of the John Riley family for the book.  Thanks for a reply.  Joe.  Objoe1234@aol.com    02-04

Davis store, Kelly, Fryar, Butler--A Country Store about 1850-1860 called Davis:  In my grandmother's possessions was an old old family picture album.  I was aware that there were tintypes in it, but no one knew who they were.  My grandfather Kelly died the year before I was born, and grandmother did not know who the people were, however, she was always sharp and clear about her family and their old pictures.  A distant Kelly cousin sent me an old family picture last week and I was scanning these old photos into my computer to send to her, when I realized that these were young pictures of John Oliver Kelly and his wife Mary Walker Fryar Kelly who lived in Ripley.  Among the pictures is a country store with men in front and a wagon with a yoke of oxen.  I can read with a magnifying glass the name over the door of "DAVIS" and then some smaller letters I cannot make out.  Does anyone know of an old Davis country store in Ripley--probably in the direction of Weir's Chapel?  Does anyone know if Mary Lou Butler is still alive?  I met her in Ripley about 15 years ago.  She is a distant Kelly cousin.  I will be happy to exchange pictures with whomever may be interested!!  Life is Choice -- Choose Wisely.  Sarah. neatstuffbysarah@msn.com      08-03
