Branch--My ancestors, the Branch Family, are buried in the old Branch Cemetery in Walthall County near the crossroads formerly known as Centerville, location of Centerville Baptist Church.  My father's cousin, Enos Branch, was once pastor of that church and is buried in the church cemetery.  Anyway, I need to find directions to the Branch Cemetery or Branch Family Cemetery.  The USGS shows that it is mapped on their Dexter Quad map, but doesn't show the exact location.  Any assistance you provide would be greatly appreciated.  Directions coming up from Thomas or Pine, LA, would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks and best regards.  Nate Ellis. natee@metronational.com   ^06-04

Rushing, Tullis/Tillis, Johnson2, Russell--Trying to locate information on my Grandfather Henry Harrison Rushing (11/20/1878-1/2/1965), married my Grandmother Zella Tullis (10/17/1877--2/19/1938), they lived in the area of Jayess, Walthall County, MS., as my mother Willie Belle Rushing Johnson (4/9/1916-12/1/2001) always said she was born in Jayess.  Zella (Tullis) Rushing had a sister (Mrs. J. A. Russell and a brother J. J. Tillis) of Monticello,MS.  Henry had two brothers Fred Rushing and Ollie Rushing of Brookhaven.  Around 1924 the Rushing family moved to Glendale, MS.  If you have any info on these two families please notify me.  Thanks, adj.  johnsonalbertd@bellsouth.net     ^{05-04   06-04}

Johnson--Hello,I received an e-mail telling me where my GGG'Father, Benjamin H. Johnson is buried. I'd like to know the name of the cemetery.  Here are the directions I received from a fellow  researcher:  I found Benjamin Harrison Johnson in Walthall County MS which was made up from Pike and Marion Counties. He was born February 17,1829 and died Decemeber 5, 1910 in old Pike County now Walthall Co.  He was not born in McComb because it was started in 1872, but perhaps near where it is  presently.  These are the directions to get there-Section 25 Township 3 Range 9.  From Tylertown Square, go west 7.1 mile west on Hwy. 98.  Turn right and go 1  mile to first crossroad.  Turn left and go 1.8 miles to cemetery on right side of road after turming west.  In 1976 the condition as reported by Mr & Mrs William S Lampton was "fairly well kept".  He is the only Johnson in the cemetery of Smyna, Walthall County, from The Tombstones Inscriptions of Walthall Co, MS by the Lamptons above.  E-mail: bensessions@yahoo.com    ^01-03
